Preparations
In addition to the City’s preparations for disasters and other emergencies, citizens and businesses of our community must also be prepared. During disasters, emergency workers are often overwhelmed and require mutual aid from other communities. In a regional disaster however, mutual aid assistance may take 3 - 5 days to arrive. Each member of the community should be prepared to take care of themselves for 3 - 7 days.

The following is a list of disaster preparedness sites that are helpful in providing guidance in your preparations to care for you, your family, pets, and/or your business. Again, we strongly suggest that everyone be prepared to be self sufficient during a disaster for a minimum of 3 - 7 days.
