The Adoption Draft of Plan Morro Bay - the comprehensive update to the City's General Plan and Local Coastal Plan is now available in addition to the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the project. The Planning Commission will start its review and consideration of the Adoption Draft during a public hearing at its October 20, 2020 meeting. Plan Morro Bay is a comprehensive update of both the City's 1988 General Plan and 1984 Local Coastal Plan. The project combines the two long-range planning documents into one combined document for ease of use, to update policies to be consistent with current state and federal legislation, and to reflect the goals and vision of the community. The Adoption Draft reflects direction received by the Planning Commission, General Plan Advisory Committee, public participation, and comments from Coastal Commission staff on the 2018 Public Draft. The Adoption Draft is available online at http://morrobayca.gov/DocumentCenter/View/14876/Hearing-Draft-Plan-Morro-Bay-Oct-2020.
The Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) has been completed by the City and circulated to the State Clearinghouse for public review. The EIR review period is October 19, 2020, through December 4, 2020. Comments on the Draft EIR may be submitted in writing or via email during this time period to Scot Graham, Community Development Director at sgraham@morrobayca.gov. The Draft EIR is available online at http://morrobayca.gov/DocumentCenter/View/14904/Draft-EIR-Plan-Morro-Bay.
