ORIGINAL POST from 1/14/2023:

Another storm system hit the Central Coast today, bringing up to 2-3 inches of rain to Morro Bay through Wednesday of next week.

While flooding is not anticipated, it is important to be prepared.  Sand is available at the Morro Bay Library and ACE/Miners is providing sand bags.   Residents are encouraged to have flashlights ready with fresh batteries, charge cell phones, keep your car's gas tank filled, and maintain situational awareness.  Be prepared to evacuate if you live or work in low lying areas in Morro Bay.  Have an evacuation plan ready.  Do not drive in heavy rains and avoid driving through flooded streets.

Out of an abundance of caution, City staff are prepared to warn residents ahead of flooding and assist in evacuations if those should be warranted.  Staff are also prepared to establish an evacuation center at the Vets Hall.

This post will be updated with new information as the storm progresses.
