Due to the current significant storm event and resulting flooding, the City has declared a local emergency. Most of the major roads in and out of Morro Bay are flooded and closed.  Community members are urged to shelter in place.  For those unable to shelter in place on the north side of town, they are encouraged to go to the shelter set up at Del Mar Elementary school.  For those who are unable to shelter in place on the south side of town, they are encouraged to go to the shelter set up at the Morro Bay Community Center.

Pacific Gas & Electric had to cut power to Morro Bay and portions of Los Osos due to flooding of their local infrastructure.  It is unknown when power will be restored.

The City will update this post as more information is available.
