Knox Box Rapid Entry System

Overview
The Knox Box Rapid Entry System is a secure emergency access program developed for property owners and fire departments. When a fire breaks out or there is a medical emergency, the Knox System provides immediate entry into buildings, storage rooms, and other secured property without causing forced entry damage or delay.

Each Knox Box is keyed to a single master key controlled by the fire department who will install the keys in each box.

Commercial Use
Per California Fire Code 506, the City of Morro Bay may require commercial property owners to store entrance keys, access cards, floor plans, and Haz-Mat data in high-security Knox-Boxes mounted near building entrances.

Residential Use
For community members with medical or mobility difficulties ask about the RUOK Program in which the Fire Department loans a temporary door mounted Knox unit to individuals. The unit causes no damage to the door and provides quick access to the residence for emergency personnel when necessary.
